BACK TO PROJECTS INDEX Paper Distribution Center & Warehouse Mohlin & Company was the designer of record for this 50,000 SF warehouse and paper distribution center for a large paper producer in Northern Maine. When this paper mill found itself lacking space for the receipt of raw materials and the shipping of finished product, Mohlin & Company was selected to design the complete facility. Work included infill of an existing train unloading platform and construction of the new facility which included truck unloading docks, train loading platforms and storage areas for finished paper rolls. The construction consisted of reinforced concrete footings, raised concrete slab on grade and steel framing including a moment distribution system consisting of columns, girders and bar joists. The exterior siding was an insulated metal sandwich panel with colors to match the existing facility. Design of this facility was completed in three months to allow construction to start as soon as frost was out of the ground. The facility has been successfully operating for the past 5 years.
